The Train
Those who climb aboard El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo will travel in time to 20s of the twentieth century when the historic Pullman cars that today are used for its lounges first operated. Together with the suites, they create an authentic five-star hotel on rails, with amenities that meet the most demanding of expectations.
The entire train, both rooms and common areas are connected internally allowing free transit of all passengers.
Suite Deluxe
Spacious suites decorated in wood, distributed in a living room, bedroom, equipped with its own bathtub or shower, and adorned with exclusive details.
Lounge Cars
The lounges of El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo are original Pullman cars from 1923, authentic jewels of the historical-railway heritage, specially decorated and set for this train.

Day 1, San Sebastián – Carranza (Saturday)
Welcome meeting at the hotel in San Sebastián at 12.00 h. Visit and lunch, later our luxury bus will bring us to Bilbao, where El Transcantábrico awaits us. Upon arrival, the crew will offer us a welcome drink. Travel to Carranza while enjoying our first dinner on board. Overnight in Carranza
Day 2, Carranza – Bilbao – Santander (Sunday)
Begin your day with the delicious a-la-carte and buffet breakfast. The Transcantábrico will return to Bilbao; a vibrant town that has reinvented itself after the decline of its traditional heavy industry. The visit includes an entry ticket to the famous Guggenheim Museum, the iconic symbol of this new Bilbao. Back on board the train to enjoy a sumptuous lunch with spectacular views on the way to Santander. Tour through the elegant capital of Cantabria and enjoy free time to discover it at your leisure. After dinner, you can visit the Santander Grand Casino with entry included. Overnight in Santander.
Day 3, Santander – Cabezón de la Sal (Monday)
Train trip to Unquera. With our coach we will set off for Potes, crossing the impressive Gorge of La Hermida. After the visit of this charming Cantabrian villa, we can enjoy a thermal circuit in the Spa de La Hermida. Lunch. In the afternoon we will visit El Capricho, in Comillas, great and colourful 19th-century palace by Antonio Gaudí. Dinner and night in Cabezón de la Sal.
Day 4, Cabezón de la Sal – Arriondas (Tuesday)
We start the day with the visit to the village of Santillana del Mar, with its beautifully preserved medieval old town. Afterwards, we will approach the Neo-cave of Altamira, museum and reliable reproduction of this greatest exponent of the rock art of the Upper Paleolithic. After the meal, we will return to the train to enter Asturian lands to Arriondas. Dinner and night in Arriondas.
Day 5, Llanes – Candás (Wednesday)
After breakfast, we will enter with our coach in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. We will visit Lake Enol and then head for the Sanctuary of Covadonga, a sacred place full of tradition and legend. Return to El Transcantábrico for lunch on board while we travel to Oviedo, capital of the Principality of Asturias and exponent of the Asturian pre- Romanesque art with jewels such as San Julián de Los Prados. Visit and free time. Dinner and night in Candás.
Day 6, Candás – Luarca (Thursday)
We start the day by going to Avilés, a millennial villa that has preserved a valuable old town. Then we will make our way to Gijón, a city which is open to the Cantabrian Sea as well as full of cultural events. We will return to El Transcantábrico to travel along the Asturian coast to Luarca, the White Village of the Green Coast, where we will enjoy a guided tour in this charming fishing town. Dinner and night in Luarca.
Day 7, Luarca – Viveiro (Friday)
Train trip to Ribadeo, a historic Galician village bordering the Principality of Asturias. By bus, we will travel along the coast to Las Catedrales Beach, one of the most spectacular in the world. Next, we will make a panoramic visit to Ribadeo and have lunch. In the afternoon with the train we will arrive in Viveiro, where, after the guided tour, we can enjoy free time. Dinner and night in Viveiro.
Day 8, Viveiro – Santiago de Compostela (Saturday)
Enjoying our last breakfast on board, we will arrive at Ferrol, where the bus from El Transcantábrico awaits us to get closer to Santiago de Compostela. Visit of the historic center of this city, a goal of pilgrims for a thousand years, which treasures countless artistic jewels such as its magnificent cathedral. End of the trip after the visit at the Parador de Los Reyes Católicos around 13:00h.
Visits & Excursions
During our journey we will visit and explore places by the sea or in the mountains, charming squares and streets, museums, cathedrals, wine cellars and ports; many stories will be revealed by our multilingual guides, accompanying us on each trip. Lunch will be the central event of the day, and in the afternoons we will alternate more excursions with activities on board the train, or just enjoy the scenery passing by before our eyes.

Payments:
According to the selected type of Travel (Regular or Charter), the CLIENT must pay:
- a) In Regular Travel:
40% of the total amount for the tourist product reserved as a "registration and guaranteed reservation fee" after receiving the "RESERVATION CONFIRMATION".
- The remaining 60% to complete the full payment, at least THIRTY days before the date of the trip.
- b) In Charter Travel:
40% of the total amount for the tourist product reserved as a "registration and guaranteed reservation fee" after receiving the "RESERVATION CONFIRMATION".
- The remaining 60% to complete the full payment, at least SIXTY (60) days before the date of the trip.
Prices:
Prices for each tourist product all their variations, are expressed in Euros and include everything that is expressly stated on the website, in brochures and any means and communications issued by RENFE Viajeros for that purpose.
Cancellation by Customer:
The CLIENT may cancel the services booked at any time, be entitled to a refund for the amounts paid, except for 15% of the total amount of booking (on the applicable RRP) which must be paid as compensation.
The percentage to be applied, based on the applicable RRP in force, will be increased depending on the cancellation date with respect to the start date of the trip, as follows:
- Cancellation between 30 and 15 days: 25%
- Cancellation between 14 and 5 days: 50%
- Cancellation between 4 and 1 day: 80%
- Cancellation less than 24 hours before or no show on the day of departure: 100%
The payment of the refund, if any, will be made by a bank transfer to the account provided by the CLIENT.
Changes:
All changes must be required in writing.
